How to repair a small hole in your ceiling
One of the most common ceiling repairs , involves repairing a small area when either a ceiling light has been removed, or someone has put their foot through the ceiling
The first task involves removing all the damaged ceiling area
Using a trimming knife cut the ceiling back and make a square area to be replaced
A piece of plaster board that is slightly bigger than the patch is cut , and a layer of dry wall adhesive applied., also a large nail is pushed through the plasterboard
The plasterboard piece is then pushed through the ceiling area , and pulled into position using the nail, the surplus drywall adhesive is then used to start filling in the ceiling patch
All surplus material is washed of the face of the finished surface
Continuing to hold onto the nail, and using a Thistle Bonding plaster the patch is continued to be built out level with the existing surface
Once filled level , the patch is ruled level using either the plastering trowel, or a short piece of timber.
The finishing plaster is then applied and trowel to a smooth surface , and marrying in the edges of the patch, all surplus plaster is washed off during the application
