How to replce panels in doors?

One suggestion is to put a theme type picture into the open spaces, one idea is seascapes, you can do this with a board cut to size and paint it...another thought is to look at something like wood furniture transfers.

You'll need to look at the back of them and see if the panels are inlaid in a routed channel. There may be thin strip of wood holding them in with finishing nails. Gently pry them out and then use panels as templates for making new ones.

Hello some folks remove panels from their kitchen cabinets on home improvement shows to replace with glass that technique might be recommended.

Hi! I've seen pictures online where the panels were replaced with tin panels.

Another method might be to put wood veneer over the panels.

You could cut them out by drilling a hole in each corner and using a fine blade Fret saw or a Dremmel to cut them out. You can then Glue it in and add a Trim to cover joint, or Fit the new panel to the back of the door. Another thought might be to stick or pin or both a New panel to the front of the cabinet to cover the offending panel, an, d then paint that!

It depends on how the doors were put together. Many times the panels are put into grooves that surround the panel before the rails and stiles are glued together. If you are lucky, the panel may be held in place with molding on the back. That can be removed and access the panels.

Remove the panels and use the shape as a template to cut new ones in the new material you chose.

The inserts should be removable from the back of the door. They may be glued in so be careful not to wreck the door frame.
