Blake Hill House needed a little privacy on the street side of the house. We have a small window that was originally covered with a plastic curtain. The curtain coordinated with the original color of the house, but once we repainted the siding Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore, it was no longer a match.
- First, I gave the window a thorough scrub, inside and out.
- Next, I cut some Gila brand frosted window film to the size of the window panes.
- Working one pane at a time, I sprayed the (inside) glass with the application solution, making sure to direct the product into the corners too. (Privacy film goes on the inside of the window.)
- I carefully lined up the window film and smoothed out the bubbles with a painter's edging tool, starting from the center and moving towards the outer edges.
- Then, I trimmed off the excess with a utility knife, using the paint tool as a straightedge.
- I repeated the process on all four panes.
- Lastly, I gave the window one last wipe with a clean cloth.
