Easy Grapevine Wreath
I love adding seasonal touches to my home, including my front porch. It’s the first thing guests see and I like it to feel warm and inviting. Since my grapevine wreath is going to hang on a window pane instead of on the door itself, my wreath is only 9″ in diameter. I would suggest measuring your door and deciding on a wreath based on that. You can find them in a variety of sizes at your local craft store.
- grapevine wreath
- flowers
- ribbon
- floral wire
- wire cutters
Things look best grouped in odd numbers so keep that in mind as well. Depending on the size of your wreath, you can buy three big or five medium statement flowers. Then you’ll need some smaller, accent flowers that compliment the bigger ones and of course, greenery to fill in the rest.
The first thing I did was to decide where I wanted my focal point. If you think of the wreath like a clock, I wanted mine at around 5 o’clock so I took my floral wire and wired my biggest flower on that spot.
I added greenery along both sides. Since I have a smaller wreath, I kept the leaves smaller for proportion. I found that I could stick the stems into the grapevine without having to secure them with wire. You may even choose to use hot glue to keep them more secure.
Next I added my accent flowers to the grapevine wreath. I balanced out the large white ones with smaller white ones.
Lastly I added in color. You can add as many colors as you want, but since this is a smaller wreath, I wanted to keep it simple. Having different sizes and shapes of flowers and leaves brings a lot more interest to your grapevine wreath.
Now it was time to hang it. I took a small piece of burlap ribbon, looped it around the wreath and stapled it onto my window pane. If you are hanging it right on your door, a clear Command hook works perfectly.
