Kate Spade Inspired IKEA Desk

I wanted a practical budget-friendly desk so that I could have a dedicated workspace of my own. But of course I wanted it to be perfect and beautiful too. Find out how I took a plain white IKEA desk and glammed it up!
I finally cleared a space to work in a corner of the living room right in front of the window. I found the IKEA ALEX desk which is wide but narrow to fit the space. With white metal legs and two large drawers I had potential for a good IKEA hack.
Before assembling the desk I spray painted all the metal base and leg pieces with gold spray paint.
And before assembling the drawers I adhered this pretty wrapping paper to the inside bottom piece, then trimmed away the excess paper and continued with assembling it.
I love the pop of Kate Spade detail every time I look into one of the drawers! More photos, and list of sources for everything are on the blog. http://bit.ly/1KNG8UQ
