Destroy Perfectly Good Hammers? Yes! You'll Be Surprised!

I found wooden handled claw hammers at the dollar store! Yes.. $1 for a hammer and I immediately knew they could be upcycled into so much more.
So I took them over the the table saw and cut them down a slight angle. Then using screws I attached them to scrap lumber to create a 'coat rack' which would be perfect in wood shop or man cave.
I actually use mine in the garage to store extension cords. Cheaper than hooks.. and the claw part of the hammer keeps the cords from sliding off.
Totally worth 'destroying' a set of hammer!
Create a coat rack.. or in this case I used it for extension cord storage.

To get the hammers to hang at an angle, I just cut the wooden handles down on the miter saw at a fixed angle
I attached the hammers to a board using screws.
Make sure you drill the board at the same angle as the hammer so the cut side sits flush (a video tutorial on how to do this is included on the blog post below)
