Rustic Burlap Lampshade

Create a rustic chic or country chic ambiance in your home. Burlap is inexpensive and comes in a variety of colors. You can dye it, paint it or even find printed burlap. You can use this technique on any style lampshade.
This project was created by guest designer April Moffat.
The lampshade is easy to create by using a basic sewing machine to secure the burlap together.
Create the ruffle on the lampshade by using a loose straight stitch and floss or thick thread. A hot glue gun is needed to attach the ruffle to the lampshade. A hot glue gun works best. If you use a low temp the glue could come undone due to heat from the lightbulb.
