Updating and Staging a Vacant House

Here is a house that we updated and then staged for a client after they completely moved out. We updated by painting walls and ceilings, replacing sinks, faucets, and lighting. Since this was an old house in a small town, we decorated with what we considered something similar to a French country theme.
We are proud to say that we reduce, reuse and recycle items in the home. 95% of the items we use are from estate sales, thrift stores, garage sales or freebies.

Kitchen updates: new sink, faucet, refrigerator, handles (kept the knobs).
Painted the wainscoting, basement door, and window frame white; added curtains and decor.
Dining room update: New light fixture, painted cabinets and handles the same color as the kitchen cabinets and handles, painted the walls the same wall color as the kitchen, took out the glass and added decor.
Changed out the sink/countertop, toilet, towel racks, and painted the walls. We were going to paint the walls the same tan wall color as the rest of the house but the light blue really popped against the white.
This room was the 4th bedroom in a 4 bedroom house. It is the biggest bedroom. We decorated it as a family room to make the house feel bigger and to make up for the small living room on the main floor.
Since on a budget, we couldn't afford painting the whole house. To update, we painted the shutters and door blue hoping to give it a freshly painted look. We pressure washed the sidewalks and house, moved some of the plants, trimmed some trees, and added flowers.
Enjoyed the project?
