We've introduced you to our DIY deck makeover project before. But one of our favorite features out there is our outdoor lighting DIY. We made an outdoor chandelier/pendant light fixture out of some vintage tin cans.
My grandparents had passed, and their home was about to be sold. While visiting their house for the last time, we were out in Grandpa's garage...just remembering, and looking for some small token...some kind of small memory to hold onto. And I spotted these vintage cans. You can see them at the bottom right corner of the picture, above.
We were in the middle of our deck project, at the time. And I knew that I wanted to do something unique for outdoor lighting. As the plane pulled back into D.C., my lighting plan was coming together.
After a bit of cleaning, we got to work. We've written out the step by step instructions, and listed all the supplies you'll need to try this project yourselves over on the blog.
Above is the BEFORE of our deck, and a glimpse of the AFTER below.
And below is the installed "can-delier".
Hope you like it!
