Faux Metal Industrial Style Letters DIY - Holiday Decoration

Have you seen all those big metal letters in home decor stores, the ones that say "EAT" or someones name or initials? Well, I have always liked them but I don't have a permanent spot for them in my home or the 25 to 30 dollars per letter to spend. So I thought I would try making my own decoration for a Christmas Decoration. It turned out to be pretty simple and practically free. Those are my favorite kind of projects!
To make your own, cut the letters you want out of cardboard.
Cut some one inch strips from a cereal or cracker box.
Mark the center of each strip and use a hot glue gun to attach the strips to the edges of the letters.
Glue letters together and paint with metallic paint.
I like the more antique metal finish so I brushed on some black paint and then dabbed most of it off with some paper towel.
Then I just added a stick for a stand but you could also add a hook to hang up the letters. If you are interested in a few more detail on this project you can find them here.
