3 Ways to Age Terracotta Pots

A great project to make your plants look extra special is giving them an aged or weathered look. Using clay or terracotta pots and a few materials you can quickly and easily make beautiful faux aged pots.
Here are 3 different techniques:
2. Sgraffito - from the Italian sgraffire which means "to scratch. This is created by using a couple of layers of colored paint followed by white and using sandpaper to remove some of the top layer exposing the color underneath.
3. Fresco - Using ready mixed plaster to create a stucco effect. Spackle the plaster on with a knife or spoon and cover with white paint. I used a watered down version to lightly cover this one.
Drop in a plant or use the saucer as a lid and fill with something special to give a loved one.
