China Cabinet Makeover

I enjoy seeing before and after pictures. It's amazing how items can be transformed with paint! We moved into an older home several months ago. The one thing I couldn't wait to get my hands on was the built-in China Cabinet and desk.
EDITED: What a fun day I've had reading all the sweet, kind comments. Thank you!!!
There have been a few comments about painting the hutch. I thought I'd give my two cents. I actually prefer painted wood over stained wood. My first DIY project 22 years ago was to paint my ugly brown cabinets white - loved it. Out of five different homes we've lived in - four were painted kitchen cabinets and one home had a stained Cherry cabinet and it was certainly beautiful but not my favorite. I was the designer on all of the kitchens (including the stained cherry) with the exception of one - and it was a professional high end kitchen with majority of painted cabinets. I prefer paint and I'm not a huge lover of stained maple - especially the yellowy/orangey color. It just does NOT go with my decor. Years down the road, this cabinet eventually can be changed with either a good dose of sandpaper or a different color paint. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder or whoever lives in the home ; )

I LOVE, LOVE how this turned out. Majority of the wood in my home was a maple. All the wood floors and all the cabinet built-ins. Way too much maple for my taste. The best thing about maple is it is easily painted.
Here's the before! It is certainly a nice piece of furniture - just maple doesn't go with my decor. The built-in swivel chair was also removed.
I love decorating and adding pretty details to make my home warm and inviting. Neutral decor with a touch of farmhouse works for me!! This spot was the gathering spot for junk - as in junk mail, junk whatever. When I have a pretty spot it makes it harder to be a spot for junk ; )

What color paint is that? Love it!
The wall paper looks like what is in my kitchen . I love it. My border does not need to be replaced but the sheets that are on my wall needs to be replaced. There is know way to replace the paper w/o pulling down the border. Can't find the border. The wallpaper was in the kitchen when we bought the house. Do you have any idea where i could get the border? Thank you!
