Fireplace Makeover - From Frumpy to FANTASTIC!

This family room fireplace was in desperate need of a makeover. The kitchen had been remodeled and now the old fireplace was really showing it's age.
Before this fireplace was small, dated and boring. Yawn, Yawn! For a focal point in the room it was failing.
What a transformation! It took 1.5 days to demo and install the stacked stone across the entire wall. I had the windows cased out with an espresso wood to make them pop and tie in the kitchen cabinetry. I also has a clean, chunky mantel built.
We kept the same firebox, but updated the glass front and then used clear fire glass at the bottom of the firebox to give a more contemporary feel. Now this a worthy focal point and has add value to the home.

Susan Rawlings on May 22, 2016Wow this is a really interesting idea. Quite a transition away from the traditional.
