#diylikeaboss Rock Out With This Rockng Chair Comeback

My friend was cleaning out the garage and said come get this rocking chair. I was there before she knew it. I saw how the veneer had lifted up and thought no problem I can fix that. This chair has beautiful features.
I cut the damaged veneer away and glued down what I could. Then whether this is correct or not I shot some brad in spots to make sure the veneer would not pop back up.
You can't really tell from the pictures I had to rebuild the rounded edge of the rocking chair. I filled it in with wood filler, sanded , repeated and repeated this step so many times.
I finally started painting the chair with DIY white chalk paint.
As I got from the first coat of white DIY chalk paint to the final one I had to continue to repair the edge of the seat. The white paint seemed to highlight areas that needed to be fixed.
Once I felt the chair was ready for the second color, I used a charcoal blue DIY chalk paint. I made sure the design on the back appeared through as it is a lovely feature.
Then rocking chair received a couple coats of the charcoal blue DIY chalk paint. It was waxed with clear and dark wax. The Rocking Chair was ready for the comeback.
