Wood Monogram Sign

I’m so happy to be here again to share my Wood Monogram Sign, using the humble wood joiner biscuit, and lots of fun and bright Country Chic Paint colors!
I saw a container of wood biscuits among my husband’s woodworking supplies and loved the shape – I immediately thought of petals, leaves, and feathers. I also grabbed a leftover wood board from one of our last projects, and arranged the biscuits in an S shape. I took a picture for future reference.
The biscuits have some texture and writing on them so I had to sand them a little bit. Then, I divided up the biscuits and painted them with Country Chic Paints Furniture and Home Decor Paint in Cherry Blossom (pink), Midnight Sky (blue), Tropical Cocktail (turquoise), and Perfection (purple). I also painted some with Metallic Cream in Pocket Watch (gold).
As for the wood board, I painted two coats of Furniture and Home Decor Paint in Vanilla Frosting. Then, I applied some Antiquing Wax with a lint-free cloth to add a textured look to the wood board. There were some spots where the Antiquing Wax was a bit dark, so to correct it, I used some Natural Wax over those spots. It’s so cool that it can do that!
After buffing the surface with a lint-free cloth, I arranged the biscuits on the board (referring back to my photo), and I used hot glue to apply the biscuits. And finally, I added a thin layer of Natural Wax over all of the biscuits. I really love the feathery look of the letter. Make one in your letter of choice for any room in the house, from your living room to your kiddo’s playroom!
