Do you have some tired table mats that have seen better days or just fancy a change. ? I show you how easy it is to update them with maps of your favourite cities. As well as looking awesome these map table mats also really spark conversation round the dinner table.
I love upcycling with maps and keep maps from all my travels and have used them in several crafts like my very popular map chairs Click here to see them
All you need is some old table mats or even cork tiles. Maps of your favourite cities, If you don't have a collection of maps if you click onto by blog below there are some links where you can download and print off some amazing vintage maps of cities.
1. Prime your mats with a diluted glue solution first.
4. Carefully stick your map to the top of your table mat. Use a ruler or rolling pin to squeeze out any air bubbles.
5. Leave to dry while weighted down.
I told you it was easy !
I used Maps of some of my favourite European cities; London, Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm and Budapest.
Another great use for maps is to use them to upcycle vintage suitcases with click here to see my gorgeous map suitcase
