I lucked up on 12 unfinished cabinet doors in assorted sizes. So what do you do... you start looking at all the diy pages to see what you can do. I wanted to start simple...
I gathered all my adult coloring books to find an image that was simple, but would be easy to work with.
I selected a medium sized door, really any size will work. These doors only needed a light sanding to smooth it out. Then I got my Unicorn Spit out to begin. Unicorn Spit is a water based, non toxic gel stain and glaze all in one!! There's nothing like it on the market any where! It's so much fun to use.
I stared with Lemon Kiss yellow and Dragon's Belly green. I squirted a little of each color on a strofoam plate. I sprayed water on the door and on the colors. Using an old wash cloth, I rubbed the door down. I used the spit as a stain for this step. It only took about 30 minutes to dry.
I used Watch Lacquer over the entire door, this also took about 30 minutes to dry.
Using regular office carbon paper under my coloring page, I traced out image. Then picked out complimentary colors to go with the lime green color I created. Since Unicorn Spit is in bright, vivid colors, I added white to all the colors to soften them. Colors used were, White Ning, Lemon Kiss yellow, Dragon's Belly green, Zia Teal and Blue Thunder.
After the design was filled in I used a Molotow marker with Midnight's Blackness Unicorn Spit for the out line. I sprayed the lacquer after it all dried. The added 2 coats of Polycrylic. Unicorn Spit can only be sealed with an oil based sealer, since I sealed with lacquer first, I could use a water based sealer without fear of reactivating the Unicorn Spit.

2 D-ring hangers were used on the back and 3 2 inch glass knobs were used for the coat hooks. I love it! I hope you do too!
