This was a Thrift Store find. I had to take the legs off to get it home. It had a few scratches on the top but it was all natural wood. I knew I had to use My come to be Favorite product Unicorn SPiT Gel Stain and Glaze. I was so excited because of the Beautiful grain in it.
After a light sanding on the top with a sheet sander I was ready. I used Unicorn SPiT Gel Stain Blue Thunder and Dragons Belly. I diluted each with about 30% water
Then using the syringe that I got from Unicorn SPiT to apply the stain and also my fingers (which is completely safe because it is none toxic) then smoothed the colors together with a dry lint free cloth.
This picture shows the results The Bare wood of the legs, The Stain when Dry and The legs after I spraying them with 3 coats of Rust-Oleum Clear Gloss
It's amazing the transformation between the bare wood and the Unicorn SPiT. It actually looks cool as is but because its an water based stain it has to have a sealer which gives it that 3D effect. I applied 3 coats of Varathane Polyurethane Clear Gloss. You are able to see the lovely grain in the wood and in this case with the combination of Blue Thunder and Dragons Belly it gave it an almost Emerald look....
With a little imagination and the Amazing Unicorn SPiT Gel Stain and Glaze this little Thrift store desk was turned into a real conversation piece that would look lovely in any room.
