I am addicted to Unicorn SPiT Gel Stain. It's a great day when I can get my hands into SPiT. Oh the smell is heavenly - Jasmine.
Unicorn SPiT; Vibrantly Colored Wood Stain & Glaze is non toxic.
I took this dresser & transformed it into a entertainment center for grandson. He requested another Galaxy to go with the others I had done. A dresser & bookcase. To my grandson with love from Nana.

I took this dresser & transformed it into a entertainment center for grandson. He requested another Galaxy to go with the others I had done. A dresser & bookcase. To my grandson with love from Nana.
First I sanded to remove all the layers of old finish. Cleaned off well.
I then laid out the Galaxy in my mind. Chose the colors : Blue Thunder, Midnight's Blackness, Phoenix Fire, Dragon's Belly, Molly Red Pepper, Zia Teal with touches of yellow, Pixie Punk Pink & Purple Hill Majesty.
When dry I added all the other colors to create Galaxies, planets & shooting stars . Misted placed plastic again and misted plastic then swirled & spread out til desired pattern. Lifted off plastic &let it dry.
When dry lightly sand with 320 grit sanding block. Dusted off the dust.
Applied Minwax Gloss Polyurethane a total of 4 coats with a brush.
I then made 2 shelves from 1/ 2 inch plywood. Placed in top two spaces. Painted the interior and exterior of the unit. When paint was dry I applied Minwax Satin Polycrylic x3 coats.
I ordered the drawer pulls, unfinished wood.
Unicorn Spit; Vibrantly Colored Wood Stain & Glaze is truly " Out of this World "
I've added this picture of the squiggle lines with Black Majesty & Blue Thunder, then I misted with water & placed the plastic over the top, misted with water on plastic. Moved the SPiT around to cover the wood. Lifted off plastic & let it dry and then. ..
I added the SPiT colors to make the galaxy & planets. Misted with water, covered with the plastic, misted plastic then swirled & spread the SPiT to form desired galaxies & planets. Lifted off plastic & misted lightly to let colors blend.
Delivered to grandson. All set up for his entertainment.
This is the Galaxy dresser I did for grandson, same techniques. This is the one that hooked me on galaxies. The drawer knobs were done by Laurie Crews Brennan. She has an Etsy page.
Galaxy Bookcase was also done using Unicorn SPiT and chalk paint.
