This are my 10 reasons, which ones are yours?
Someone recently asked me why I love gardening so much and I had to stop and think about the answer(s) for a bit. So, after some musings, I came up with not 1 but 10 reasons as to why I love gardening.

5) It’s a way to commune with nature. Birds, bees & butterflies still delight me.
I’ve been gardening since I was knee high to a grasshopper. It’s second nature to me – I just do it without even thinking about it.

ObiaMan on Jul 19, 2016The wildlife here enjoys my garden too. I've seen as many as 60 birds of 6 different species and 15 squirrels in my front yard at the same time. I'm talking doves, black birds, sparrows, cardinals, finches, blue jays, mocking birds, all having breakfast together in the middle of winter. The snakes freak me out a little, especially the water moccasins.

ObiaMan on Jul 20, 2016Well, I live close to the swamps, so we've had to "neutralize" quite a few moccasins over the years, but the garter snakes mostly just surprise me, especially if they're at face level in an orange tree or azalea. I just get a stick and tote them out to the woods, knowing they'll come right back. I think I'll keep my swampland over your desert though, even with our heat AND humidity. I'll just be glad when early fall arrives and it gets more comfortable being outside. I must add that I do have quite a collection of cacti and succulents that are very interesting. Very easy care and all the textures and colors are amazing. I'm planning another pond in the front yard with a waterfall to the back and terracing along the sides to the waterfall filled with my succulents.
