Seen this bicycle rim décor at our local craft store. I fell in love but not with the price. I knew I could make my own so the hunt began!
I placed an ad looking for old rims on a free classified website. I got lucky and got two given to me!
I knew exactly the look I was going for, so I started painting. I used a brush but I would recommend spray paint as it was very time consuming. I painted everything in Antique White chalk paint, after it was dry I used Rustic chalk paint and went around spokes and rim dotting paint to make it look rusty and worn.
I found this cool metal decoration that was perfect for my design. This I purchased at Michaels along with some rustic clips and magnets to attach everything.
So here it is almost completed, I sprayed it with a clear sealer.
Here is the completed project with pictures attached. I love how it turned out. This is going to my sister for Christmas!
