I never find a clean-out session to be fruitless! Not only do I get things organized (which is always a sanity saver) but without fail, I find something that sparks an idea for a new project.
That's exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago when I went on an organizing spree and came across a collection of 36 wine glasses.
That's exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago when I went on an organizing spree and came across a collection of 36 wine glasses.
I've always loved the gentle glow of candles lining windows during the Christmas season. It's one of my very favorite decorations!
Imagine my excitement when I was cleaning and organizing my craft supply area, saw those wine glasses and candles from our son and daughter-in-law's wedding rehearsal dinner last winter, and the inspiration bug bit!
I also had a nice collection of battery-powered votives, which would be a lot safer in the windows than real candles.
This was simple to put together and within minutes, I had my candles softly shimmering in the windows!
If you don't have windows that will works well, you can make a simple centerpiece variation for your table. Visit the blog for the details.

Kathy on Jan 04, 2017"To Work With My Hands" you inspired me to get out a bunch of my "junk" and make several beautiful arrangements using the many pieces of glassware I have in storage. I received the most compliments on the piece I had on myself deck. I covered five tumblers with jute mesh, made various designs with vibrant stickers on the jute and permanent markers, and placed battery powered votive candles on top of the tumblers and placed them in center of the piece. Then I turn five wine glasses upside down over the tumbles and put votive candles on the stem bottom of the wine glass. Like the author, I continued to use various size glasses, candles, and decorations from storage, nature, and family.

Have a question about this project?
I am looking at this and am thinking... why not use 3 larger glasses for center. adding a small plate on top to hold the candle. then the 2 singles on side?
