Plastic Canvas Pumpkin Without the Plastic Canvas!!

By using strips of plastic canvas and wrapping them with yarn, you can make this unique pumpkin, too!
I deconstructed a small doily I had made last year for the yarn.
Then I cut plastic canvas strips 3/4" wide and about 12" long.
I then glued the end to one of the ends of the strip and began wrapping. This takes about 3 minutes. Leave one row of the canvas open so you can glue it to the other end. When done, leave about 3" on the end of the yarn.
Don't be impatient when it comes to sealing the circles. They take a good 60 seconds or more. My test is when the metal thing I use to hold it in place comes up easy, it's ready. Wrap your tail around and glue in the back.

NOTE: Don't worry if this connection is ugly, no one will see it.
As you can see, I had to use two different colors of yarn. I had 14 strips and the variegated was just enough to do 7 so that worked out great. Then I did the other in a solid orange a bit lighter. Now you could do it with orange and black, golds and orange or any colors you wanted.

Gather your circles with some yarn, making sure that your two colors (if you have them) are staggered. Then gently tie them together and encircle the circles with your colored/decorative ribbon. Too tight or too lose and they won't work so adjust it so it's just right. It's the Goldilocks Principle!!
When you have separated them some, roll some of the decorated ribbon in a roll and glue it, then glue it down inside the top. I put some raffia in it to give it a curl affect.
If you don't have plastic canvas, you can do the same with cardboard, or old bangles.

N-JOY!!

Beg pardon. I don't know why I thought it was something someone had tatted.
