I've had these old cast iron irons for quite some, and other than they are rather heavy, I was tired of moving them around because they were always in the way. With us just having passed our windy season, I finally found a use for them........ Door stoppers
Again my husband came to my rescue and grinderd the excess rust off, I painted a rust converter on and left for 24hrs, so the rust converter can do what it needs to do. I used Chalk paint for the back ground colour. On the base I traced the correct size and stuck music paper on and painted on that. I sealed it with a gloss sealer. They work beautifully.
This is the reverse side if each iron.
My favourite is my shy little mouse..
All my doors are kept securely open now.
This is what they look like after the extra rust had been grinderd off. Very happy with the end result..........

did you do modge poge or how did you get picture on iron
I love these! Did you take painting lessons?
Did you freehand your pictures or have something you found that you liked the look of to go by? These are far to decorative and pretty to have doors banging into them and chipping them up. I wish I could paint half as good as you do. I'd use them as pretty home decorations and what lovely and thoughtful gifts they would also make. I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with these! P.S. your art teacher was so wrong, you can paint beautifully! Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration! You could seriously sell these!
