How To DIY A LEGO Table The Easy Way

My friend, Sue bought a very plain bed tray for me. She is great about keeping her eyes open for special items. I saw an idea on Pinterest, which showed how to create a cute LEGO tray. I immediately knew what to do with the plain tray. So this is how to DIY a LEGO table the easy way. I figured this is perfect for the grandparents to have on hand for when the grandchildren visit.
Of course, I wiped the tray down with cleaner and then lightly sanded the wooden frame of the tray. The LEGO base plates are in the primary colors of blue and green so I decided to use the rest of the colors from the color wheel, red, orange, yellow and purple.
I ordered the plates so while I waited for them I painted the tray in the primary colors. The company emailed detailed instructions so I had no problems finishing up the project.
In order to make sure the base plates will work you have to have LEGO bricks. Lucky for me I bought a small package and had a piece to use as a guide. Then a friend let me borrow some of her little boys LEGO bricks. I did discover the tray is not perfectly square so after I glued down the plates I took a small brush and painted out the white space in the purple.
I was so pleased with how to DIY a LEGO table the easy way. And to make it even easier you don’t even need to paint it. But it is prettier painted don’t you think?
For more information, you can visit the blog to learn what paint and wax I used and why. I also have included a product list for your convenience. I had so much fun playing with the LEGO Building Blocks.
