From Naples FL to the North Pole! Create your own 'reindeer' with just a few supplies! I literally picked up a palm tree frond while at the beach, and stowed it in my carry-onto take home. I had an idea!
I sketched a simple face on the palm frond, then used craft paints already on hand (reason for $0 cost) to outline and fill in.
I took baker's string (but any string or ribbon would do), and attached to the back of the frond 'antlers' (with duct tape, baby!). Simple!
You could also add a little spanish moss for a tuft between the 'antlers', a real bell for the nose, and/or tie a ribbon around the antler(s). Googly eyes and a red pom pom, as one reader suggested, would also be super cute!
Hanging on an inside door (or protected exterior door) is just one option for this palm frond reindeer holiday decor.
Or, create a vignette, anywhere you want to add a little whimsy to your Christmas decor. The Santa bear and sled pictured above is where mine landed for a vignette.
This is an easy craft for anyone, from 1 to 92! Next time you're where palm trees sway, be sure to pick up one or more of the palm fronds you see on the ground!
