I just LOVE canopy beds. It seems like the room isn't cozy without a canopy. So it was MUST for this room too. But there were a lot of limitations. Firstly, this is a dorm room so we aren't allowed much drilling and stuff. Secondly, we only stay in a room for 9-10 months so it had to be something totally portable and of-course cheap.
So, I decided to make my own canopy, which didn't require heavy tools and was light weight to easily hang on hooks you stick on the wall.
So, I decided to make my own canopy, which didn't require heavy tools and was light weight to easily hang on hooks you stick on the wall.
Here is the list of supplies you would need:
First, I took 0.5 m wire and rolled it into 3 layered circle.
Next, I tied it with twine.
Then, I wrapped twine all over it.
And tied knots to hang the twine on the hooks.
The hooks I used were really strong. According to the instructions, you had to heat up the glue using a lighter and then stick the hook on the wall.
I sewed in ribbons on the curtain so that I can tie the curtain around the circular rod. Since the curtains were made from very light fabric, the trick worked perfectly.
And that's it! A beautiful effortless canopy was ready in less than an hour.
