If you own any wood furniture, chances are, you’ve gotten a scratch or ding or even a gash in it at some point or another. Maybe you knocked against your side table while opening a door. Maybe you dropped your keys on your nightstand one time too many. Or maybe you’ve found the perfect dresser at the flee market, but on the surface, its seen better days. Well I’m going to show you how to repair those cracks and holes in your wood furniture while selecting the perfect wood filler for each type of repair job.
With the right wood filler. You can turn this thrift store night stand into this.
Fabulously chic and stylish nightstand
So regardless if you opt for a solvent based or latex based wood filler, the steps are the same. 1 Stain.
2. fill with wood filler. If it's a latex wood filler, the dry time is a bit longer.
If its a solvent wood filler, it'll dry quicker.
3. Sand till its smooth
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until fully satisfied and there are no bumps.
When I found this nightstand it had scraps and scratches all over it.
It also had this decorative part on the side that I did not like.
I did't want to keep the knob. So I made a few drilling mistakes. Hahaha it happens.
But will the right filler and patience, you can fill in all the gaps and come out with something beautiful.
And typically, it'll cost very little.

Just so happens that I am giving some TLC to my granddaughter's bedroom dresser. They have been pretty rough on it! So I decided to sand it down, stain it and put new handles on it. This is my first time attempting something like this...wish me luck!
