Bookcase to Pantry

I took two generic bookshelves and turned them into a practical pantry. All I needed were doors.
I found two generic bookcases next to a dumpster. First thing I did was stain them a dark espresso color to match the rest of my kitchen cabinets.
Next, I bought 1/2 MDF for my doors. Home Depot cut them for me. I stained them and applied a clear varnish top coat.
Next, came the hardware - hinges and knobs.
I hung the doors.
Perfect little pantry for my kitchen.
My only expense was the MDF, which was around $27. Everything else, I already had on hand. You can find more details on my blog.
I like the clean, simple lines of my new pantry, and I was happy the bookcases didn't make it to the dumpster. Thanks for reading.

This is amazing. They don't look like bookcases now. Great idea for someone with limited space. Good share.
