Starting over can be hard to do. Add giving up your award-winning dream rose garden, designed with love and filled with over 200 varieties. Living in a vibrant booming metro area, accepting the exceptional as the norm was a gradual paradigm shift for me. It never occurred to me I might have difficulty locating the rose varieties I left behind in my Plano award winning rose garden*.“

After having difficulty locating many of the varieties of roses I had in my award winning Texas rose garden locally I was able to order many I had from Jackson & Perkins like 'Black Cherry' and put in a Jackson & Perkins Rose Garden which includes their 2018 roses as of yet unnamedBlack Cherry Rose Bush. So we designed a rose garden and ordered the varieties to plant.
Here's how to build your country rose garden:
- Order varieties of roses that you want to plant, I ordered mine from Jackson & Perkins
- Rototill or dig up all the roots and grass
- Put down a weed barrier
- Watch the video on how to build the wood rose frame boxes then we built
- Place the frames in the garden
- Plant your roses, fill with decorative stone, mulch around the roses.
I learned how to adjust and love living in the country. Growing roses in the country can be a challenge but I wouldn't have it any other way.
