DIY Crocheted Plarn Rug

Over the past year or so I've been a little obsessed with plarn - plastic yarn made from plastic bags - and have created a number of purses, totes and other bags. I decided to take on a massive undertaking to make a kitchen rug after seeing the prices of store-bought rugs for the size I needed - 13 feet long by 3 1/2 feet wide!
And, before you ask . . . no, it's not slippery at all!
Because of the rug length, I opted to make 4 panels. Here's a close-up of a couple panels before crocheting them together. I used the "grit" stitch, which is basically crocheting 2 stitches in every other stitch.
3 panels - nearly finished.
I went with a looped edging on the 2 ends for a finished looked and you can see how I crocheted the pieces together.
And the finished project!
Another pic of finished project.

I definitely want to make this pattern. I have about 1500 bags and this looks like a perfect way to upcycle my bags.
