Easy DIY Fish Shaped Mirror. Perfect for beach cabana or any beach decore home.
This is a very easy DIY project. All you need is a cheep mirror a piece of 1x12 and a few tools. First step is to draw the shape of the fish onto wood. Then trace the mirror. Regardless of the size or shape of the mirror you will want to draw another line about 1/4 inch inside the mirror outline. It is this inner line that will be cut out using a jig saw.
Once the hole is cut out with a jig saw, use a router to cut a groove all of the way around this groove. The groove only has to be deep enough to let the mirror sit flush.
We found a cheep mirror at the dollar store
The edges are sanded smooth and detail line added with a dremel grinder. These fish can be either painted or stained. For this one I wanted the pastel beech look so I mixed a few drops of blue paint into some natural stain and created a light blue wood stain.

Thanks for sharing Dan. Let's make one thing clear though. It's an easy DIY for you, who's obviously handy with a jigsaw. As for the rest of us mortals, we'll just have to rely on guys like you!
