Simple steps to creating a beautiful and affordable decorative tray for your home.
To start this project you will need 1 picture frame at least 8 x 10 in size.
You will need to disassemble the frame and remove stand and hooks from backing. This will allow the finished product to sit flat on any surface.
Using spray paint in colour of your choice - follow instructions on can and paint the frame. I used the colour "Bright White" and needed 3 coats to get the look I desired. **note - make sure glass and backing is removed during this step.
After paint is dry you then want to glue the glass in place. Using a glass glue I went along the edge where the glass would sit and placed it on top.
Carefully place a heavy object on glass and allow at least 30 minutes for glue to dry.
Cut a piece of card stock in the design of your choosing to the frame size.
Insert card stock face down. Using hot glue, secure the backing in place and you are done!
You now have a beautiful, custom piece of decor that is suitable for any area of your home...the best part being how affordable and easy it is to do!

I did this years ago for my Mum I used a bigger frame and put a needle point picture I did. I inserted it in where the picture would go and put 2 cupboard door handles on the side. She uses it for a serving tray.
