My husband and I love to “rescue” old pieces of furniture to give them a new purpose. They are more than a simple piece of decoration. We worked on a little bench we found that has great potential to be used in many ways and we got this:
Before.. The cushion needed major fixing! No problem for us!
First, we sanded and painted the frame of the bench in a neutral white. We got rid of an old greasy brown.
For the seat cushion , we decided to just stick with the original filling since it was in a pretty good condition
Then the fabric. We measured the board seat, cut the fabric and lay it on top
Then curl up the edges underneath, pulling tight and stapling it on one side, then its opposite side, then the next,etc...
The corners were little tricky, I pull hard the fabric to get each of them nice and smooth, without uncomfortable folds on the top part of the cushion
Finally my husband stapled the fabric in place and... Bam! It looks brand new!
After...love that pattern!
Where does it go? At the foot of bed? As a piano bench, vanity bench? In the entryway?
Enjoyed the project?
