I have seen "magnetic " dry erase boards but they were always boards that had magnets on the back and stuck to the refrigerator. I wanted to make one that I can write on and stick the children's notes on...so off I went to my craft boxes.
I had picked up a roll of dry erase contact paper at the Dollar General a while back. It took me a bit to get to this project and decide just what I wanted to do. Beside it sits my exacto knife. Once I had this idea, I got to work!
Then I grabbed and old cookie sheet and taped a piece of paper on the bottom of the bottom of it.
I sprayed two thin layers of chalk paint, letting them dry in between of course, then a layer of clear coat to protect it.
I hot glued Velcro to the dry erase marker and eraser. I also embellished these magnets I got at the Dollar Tree with little gems.
And here's the finished product. Functional ,cute and easy! Your very own DIY message board :)
