DIY Layered Burlap Monogram

I made this simple burlap monogram with supplies from Michaels! I used mod podge to adhere the scrapbook paper to the wooden plaque & after that, just attached everything to the pre-made burlap canvas with hot glue! Super easy and I just love how it turned out!

I have looked for the delicate laser cut wood at Michaels and Hobby Lobby and cannot find. Is there anywhere to get that on-line?

Where did you get the wood plaque?

  • Tonya, very pretty. I'm working on an initial too in an embroidery hoop. Did you paint or cover the initial with thread?

How would you try and make the coil design layer? I am trying to not spend money

Use a doily. Paint, dye, or stiffen as desired. Alternatively, you could zen-doodle a mandala, paisley, or abstract design onto the scrapbook paper with a sharpie. I'd use a colored sharpie a few shades darker that the background color.

what is the layer directly under the D, and where did you get it? Looks like wood embellishment but I've never seen that at Lowe's or Home Depot.

I love this idea. I'm going to a wedding shower and refuse to purchase something from a register, I'm going to make them one of these; how cute.
