Learn the useful skill of joining fabric with no sewing! Especially useful for when you make rag rugs. Or need to climb out a window like Rapunzel :)
Did you know that you can join fabric with just two holes? You can also use it for banners or make rope for other crafts. It is super easy! This method is also super useful in rug making.

Make fabric strips
If you are using thin fabric, then you can rip it but if you are doing denim(like above) or other thicker fabric then it may be easier to use your rotary cutter or scissors.
The first photo is the pile of pockets and seams left after a ripping session of a bunch of old jeans. The second photo is of the strips after cutting them 1 inch wide to prepare for a denim rug.
After you have cut your fabric strips then cut holes in each end of the strips.
Lay one strip on top of the other and line up the holes.

Bring the other end of the top strip up through the bottom of the holes. Pull the fabric through until you have made a knot.
