We always collect something when we go on vacations, postcards, rocks, flowers, and we have been collecting shells and sand from our last 3 beach vacations. I had them around the house in recycled jars, but I wanted to make them a subtle focus in one of the rooms of our house. I was thinking of placing some mason jars in a basket, but I was super lucky to find a great find… I found these great jars with a steel looking basket at TJ Maxx for $6. Hooray for me! I thought that was a “steel”..HA!
So here is what I came up with, hope you like it.
From my Home to yours!
First, I found the jars and the basket I wanted to use.
$6 Happy Dance!!
I added the sand we collected on our vacations to each of the jars, I added some shells to mine to fill the jar a bit more.
I wanted to make sure I label the jars so I know where the sand came from. So I added some tags I found at the Dollar Tree. $1
I took a lighter and burned the edges to give it some texture and so they didn’t look so crisp. I also burned the center for color.
*Please be safe with this. very safe.
Added some wicker rope to the jars for a little touch.
placed in the basket. .. and now my vacation sand is my decor.. BOOM
Enjoyed the project?
