I've been married more than 41 years so I've had kitchens with both wall ovens and ranges. Without a doubt, I MUCH prefer a wall oven and a separate smooth cooktop! (A single wall oven is adequate for my needs). I love the convenience of walking by the oven and being able to just glance in to check on food without having to bend over or even open the oven door. It's nice to open the wall oven door and not be hit with a blast of heat in the face like you get when you bend over and open a range door. And even though my wall ovens have been self cleaning, it's nice to be able to wipe the ash out after the cleaning cycle without having to bend over or get on my knees to contort myself into a range oven that is much closer to the floor. By choosing a wall oven and smooth cooktop in my most recent kitchen makeover 3 years ago, I was able to put pull out drawers underneath my cooktop--3 of them in different depths. The bottom one is the deepest and I keep my pots and pans in it. It easily holds even my tallest pots. The middle drawer holds all my pot lids, and the top, more shallow drawer holds cooking utensils and pot holders. I love not having to get down on my hands and knees to hunt for these things in the back of the cabinet! I also have pull out drawers underneath the wall oven and it is amazing how much storage they provide. The top 3 drawers hold so much, I don't even have anything in the bottom drawer! Actually, had I known I was going to love the pull out drawers so much, I would have had them put into ALL my lower cabinets.

Double oven. I use the lower one mostly for keeping large pans of food warm while I'm doing something in the top one. So convenient.
