Whether you are working on Halloween, Thanks giving or Autumn décor in general; you'll love this cool painting trick using UNiCORN SPiT. This project is double double...as there is a little bonus idea for your crafting goody bag !!
I've been admiring so many pallet pumpkin projects in videos, groups and on Pinterest ! ... I couldn't help but wonder how I could put a little SPiT spin on this seasonal favorite !!!!
I began by blending my FALL colors, Phoenix Fire, Lemon Kiss, Molly Red Pepper, and a deep rich brown I created by mixing Midnight Blackness, Phoenix Fire and just a drop of Lemon Kiss.  I used my cling-on brush, but any brush will work !!!
I decided to do something totally out of the ordinary and against everything I have ever told all of you about working with SPiT !!! ...... But ,first, I mixed a creamy off white chalk paint, using POP !!!
WAIT....what is this ?......A WATER BASED SEALER ? ....Why yes, it is !!! .....I grabbed my water based Varathane and added about 1/4 cup right into my chalk paint !! {mix well}
Using a regular paint brush, I covered my UNiCORN SPiT PALLET PUMPKIN with the paint mixture !!! .....wait for it.........
The water in the paint and sealer reactivates the dry UNiCORN SPiT underneath !!! ....Our vibrany stain colors begin to bleed through as our paint mixture dries !!!
The effect sort of brings both worlds together; shabby pallet meets crazy and colorful !!!
Here's the goody bag bonus !! .....I mixed some shimmery mica dust in to SPiT, to create a thick paintlike mixture. The UNiCORN SPiT  allows me to stencil without having the image or lettering become too bold for the project, while the addition of the mica dust gives a subtle shimmery effect !!!
I decided to go with AUTUMN......I loved the way this worked out and want to display the pumpkin throughout the season !!! I do recommend a final seal with a satin or matte polyurethane {oil based} to preserve your artwork for years to come !!!
