Begin by choosing a paper mache pumpkin of your choice.
Use a foam brush to apply paint to the entire body of the paper mache pumpkin minus. Once the first coat of paint to dries completely, then apply a second coat. (Don't try to paint a second coat before the first has dried or it could pull the first layer of paint off in the process.)

Once both coats of paint have dried use a foam brush to apply Mod Podge to a front section of the pumpkin. Then sprinkle glitter onto the wet Mod Podge.

I painted my pumpkin teal so I used green and blue glitter for this step.
Once the Mod Podge dries, use a strong craft glue to adhere a scrapbook chipboard phrase of your choice onto and across the front of the pumpkin.

When the glue dries, paint your pumpkin stem. (I used a lime green paint for this step.) Then gently blow glitter in a contrasting color (in my case I used blue glitter) onto the wet paint.

Allow the paint to dry, then spray your pumpkin with a clear acrylic sealer. I used Krylon's Glitter Shimmer Spray in perfectly pink.
Finally, I tied ribbons onto the stem of my pumpkin!
Your DIY glitter pumpkin is now ready to display as you see fit!
