My daughter is on the varsity soccer team in our small city. They had a good season and have an upcoming banquet coming up... and we needed decorations. I volunteered to do a decoration for every player from the middle school/high school soccer team. 56 girls total. It took a ton of time but they are super easy To make!
Start with 6" big clothes pins from your local craft store. $2.00 each but on Amazon less for $1.50 each.
Gather all the supplies.
scrapbook paper, I used 4 12x12 designed sheets and 6 8x10 plain color paper.
2 size round punch, watercolors (cheap mine was from IKEA), tape runners (I used 6 total for this whole project), soccer die cuts (I ended up thinking 2 packages was enough as it said 30 in each package, well it had stars in it so only 30 soccer balls! So I used my scanner and printed more on white scrapbook paper! Can't tell the store ones or mine)
First step is to paint the clip. I used water downed water colors. I chose black and blue (school colors). Brush watered down paint on all the sides except where scrap book paper will be placed. Once dry, the black looked more grey and the blue was light blue. Perfect for what I needed.
Had painted black (grey) and the other blue.
Used my computer to type all the players names then used small circle punch to cut out. Then used sparkle silver paper cut with larger circle punch for the grey clips and black for the light blue ones.
Pile of 56 names all cut out. That's when I noticed this was gonna take all weekend and binge watching Netflixs!
Next measure scrapbook paper to the size of the clip. One side decorated soccer paper and the other one plain color. Then used scrapbook runner tape to tape to the clip.
Simple, used paper and pencil to trace outline to not use at ton of paper...
After attached to clip use 6" of decorative string to loop around the clip to attach decorative name and embellishment soccer ball to the clip.
Simple tie in knot
Finished clip, name and embelishment with simple tied knot.
Finished projects...
How it looks with a picture in in...this picture is a 5x7... we will be using 4x6 pictures at the banquet.
I sand all the edges of the paper to give a used look... went thru 2 sanding blocks! It helps seal the edges of the paper and clip.
Back sides...
