Growing Gardenias From Cuttings

A friend gave me several cuttings from her gorgeous gardenia bush. I never, ever thought I could actually grow them! Take a look at the video I had done on how I started the cuttings in glass bottles. And now, two years later (yes, I know, it takes a while!) I have two gorgeous, healthy plants. I bring them in for the winter and put outside in early March: in central North Carolina.
I gathered my cuttings and several glass bottles. No, they do not have to be clear. Gardenias need humidity to grow roots, so wrap the stem in paper toweling and stuff this lightly into the bottle neck. Lots of cuttings, all set to go!
