One of my favorite things to use for crafting is clay pots. And many, many years ago I started making Christmas ornaments from small clay pots. Since it is the start of the Christmas season I thought I would share an easy craft to create a Christmas Tree from a clay pot.
I like painting the pot in the classic Christmas green. After I have painted the pot in green, I repaint it using a glitter paint. For the one I just made I used green glitter paint. For the other ones, I used the multi-colored glitter paint.
Now a Christmas Tree has to have a star or an angel. My trees have stars. I found little wooden stars that are perfect. I do a base coat with gold craft paint. Once it is dry I have to add the glitter. I usually use gold but silver is pretty also. This time I used Mod Podge for the glitter to stick but generally, I use watered down craft glue. Either one works well. Set the star aside.
I used gold cord in this version. Use the hot glue gun and carefully run it on the underside and press the cord on the bead of glue. You will wrap the cord or beads around the tree, gluing and wrapping. This time I tucked the cord in the hole in the pot and glue it down.
Cut a piece of green ribbon and thread it through a jingle bell. Tie the ribbon. Thread it up through the hole and tie a bow. That is the hanger.
Time for the decorations. You can use small pearls, sequins or tiny beads. I have tried it all. The newest one I made I used the tiny jewels.
Can you believe it? The tree is done! This is such a cute little gift to give to your child’s teacher or in my case, I gave them to friends and coworkers. I don’t have to make as many now that I am retired but I have a few people who look forward to the yearly Christmas Clay Pot Ornament.

I noticed you had a bottle of fake snow, like paint. I bought some of this the other day, is it easy to use, do you have any tips on how to use it?
