I've had this set of drawers with me for a very long time and after them being moved several times from house to house, they have gotten a few bumps and bruises! Sharing how to transform and paint set of drawers into a Farmhouse Card Catalog.
Step 1 - Clean down the drawers free from dust. Sugar soap is fabulous to remove grit and grime.
Step 2 - If the drawer pulls are unable to be removed like these ones, tape them off to avoid getting paint on them. If they can be removed it makes it much easier to paint and sand.
Step 3 - Grab your favourite paint and get painting! For this project, I used Fusion Mineral Paint - Champlain and painted 2 coats letting each coat dry in between.
Step -4 Stencil on the tiny numbers using black paint and a makeup wedge.
Step 4 - Take your sander and 120 grit sandpaper and distress to your liking, paying particular attention to the edges.
And there you have a fun and easy way to give a set of drawers a nice new farmhouse look.
Come on over to my blog and see all of the supplies I used and take a peek at my latest projects.

I like it, I would use it as a card catalogue for all of my cookbooks. I have mine plus I inherited my mothers after she passed away. I love them all. Some of her cooksbooks are older than I am (55.5) NOW THAT IS AN OLD COOKBOOK. Thanks for the idea.

Have a question about this project?
Why did you number all the drawers? Are you gonna use it for a file system? Inquiring minds want to know! :-)
I love it! I’m curious about what you are going to put into those drawers?! It looks very nice.
I've got a 8 drawer dresser that belonged to my grandma. Over the yrs my kids have placed stickers on it. How would I go about removing them without messing up the wood? Can someone help me? Thx
