Hi friends, I’ve never done a Mother’s Day Mantel but after making the Mother’s Day Flowers the other day I thought it would be fun to see what I could come up with.
So I played around with it and, you know what……………I LOVE it.
So I played around with it and, you know what……………I LOVE it.
This was pretty fun and easy to put together! I shopped my house, literally I walked around in some of the upstairs rooms and pulled out a few things. I don’t always know how I’m going to put things together. Sometimes I’ll play with things a few things and then go and sit back in a chair and look at it. And then my dog Coco will come up and lick me or bring me her toy to play tug o war…..lol. And then I make a decision.
I love Shabby Chic Décor and I love Cottage Style so this is a bit of a mix. Oh and did you see the big new taupe n cream pillow on our big chair?? $4.99 at Ross the other day. Can you believe that?? Big Pillow Score. The smaller heart pillow is my Anthropologie knock off (it was $198 on their website).
I pulled this big vintage shabby chic chippy frame (I found this at a flea marked years ago for $5). I added this framed art of pretty shabby n chic roses inside (I got this at Marshalls about 10 years ago for $10).
I just love the detail on the corners and the chippy paint. Below is the Mother’s Day Flowers I made the other day and I can easily pull the tags off and use this any time of year and change up the flowers, so I love that.
The Old Windows were found at a yard sale last year for $2 each!! Can you believe that?? The black shutter above I have used many times and it’s pink on the other side so I change it up. I hung that pretty sign that says “Happily Ever After” on it. (that was a thrift store find for $2). Below is the little Spring Banner I made before Easter and I just flipped it over. The Candlesticks my Brother and Sister in Law bought me years ago for my Birthday years ago and I adore them. The Candles were found at Ross last year and they are twine wrapped white candles. I love them because they look like burlap. Hey I should try to make some more huh??? …..lol.
So I know I called it my Mother’s Day Mantel but I LOVE it and will keep it up for the next month or so. I’ll pull off the Mom tags and then it’s just a great rustic mantel.
