I'm sharing some creative Spring ideas for toilet paper rolls.
You can make a herb garden by using toilet paper rolls wrapped in brown paper and tied with a ribbon. These are attractive and fun to set in the window as you watch them grow in the early Spring.
Most of these items you will probably find around your house. You’ll need to cut 1/3 off of each toilet paper roll (otherwise they are too tall and you’ll waste dirt). You’ll also need potting soil, seeds, brown paper and ribbon/string.
Wrap some brown paper around each tube and tie with a ribbon to secure. Then, place your potting soil into each tube along with some seeds.
Don’t forget to label the back of each tube, otherwise you may not know what is growing in it!
2. Toilet Paper Windsock
Paint a toilet paper roll and let it dry. Then staple or glue ribbon, crepe paper or string to the bottom of the roll to complete your windsock.
3. Toilet Paper Bird Seed Feeder
This is a simple craft that involves peanut butter and seeds! The birds will enjoy snacking on this craft as much as you will making it!
You’ll need a toilet paper roll, peanut butter, bird seed and ribbon.
Spread the peanut butter onto the toilet paper roll. Pour some bird seed into a dish or plate and roll your peanut butter covered toilet paper roll in it to coat it. Tie a ribbon around the middle and hang on the branch of a tree. The birds will thank you!
4. Toilet Paper Fairy Garden House
Take a marker and draw a door and windows on your toilet paper roll. Take a cupcake wrapper and glue onto the top of the roll for a ‘roof’.
5. Toilet Paper Roll Firestarter (for Camp)
You may have a camping trip planned this Spring, especially if one of your kids is in scouts. An easy way to start a fire is with one of these fire starters!
Collect the lint from your dryer vent for a few weeks and stuff it inside a toilet paper roll. Label ‘Fire Starter’ and keep several in a bag for your next camping trip.
