As soon as the first signs of spring appear and there is evidence of growth and change in my surroundings, I too experience a new energy.
Now, mind you, most of the time it is an energy that involves new home projects or home renovations that keep my loving husband on his toes. Or it involves brainstorming DIY projects as I begin to swap, shop and redecorate rooms in my house.
I had a surge of creative energy last week feeling the need to craft something, which by the way, is a much safer choice than my husband arriving home to a newly painted room.
First up on my to-do list is to get on this embroidery hoop trend. I am totally crushing on them! They are everywhere and I can’t believe I haven’t created a hoop wreath yet.
There is something so simple and charming about a hoop wreath. And the best part is that it is an affordable way to add beauty and style to your decor in just a few minutes.
To give the wood a richness, I started by rubbing antique wax on the surface.
I wanted a punch of spring color in my kitchen and I have really tired of my current Easter decor. When I found these bright carrots at Michaels, I knew these would be the sweetest little addition to my first hoop wreath.
Then all it took was for me to heat up my hot glue gun and grab my stash of reindeer moss and get to work.
In a matter of minutes, I attached some spring-vibe to the moss, added a pop of my coveted black and white ribbon, and in no time at all, I had myself a charming and festive wreath for my kitchen.
