So I found another cabinet door and grabbed it up. The problem was, it was not chippy enough.
The first step was to take the orbital sander to it to find the character I knew was hiding under that first layer of paint.
I ground the first layer of paint down and found green, pink and bare wood. Perfect. It did however take 40 minutes and 6 pieces of sand paper to get the desired result.
I next added an old corbel I found in the garage amongst all the parts and pieces. I painted it lite green which matched better than the white I found it in. I then screwed it into the top of the door.
I then pulled out an old mechanics light and cord. Lighting it during the night will be an added bonus. As I scrounged through the tresure room I also found three kids garden tools I had squirreled away for just such an occasion . I screwed them onto the front. The handles were thin wood so I drilled a pilot hole so they would not split. I fastened the light cord to the back and draped the cord across the corbel.
This completed fun project was pretty easy and will be a great addition to my garden.
The flowers seem to like it.
It is also pretty at night.
