I found this great little antique settee at an auction, it was dark, dated, velvet and the seat was a bit sad… So it had to come home with me! I started this little revival and it took over a month to complete, but I am so happy with the results.
I painted the wood frame with Old White Chalk paint and then distressed and waxed. The finish is fantastic and now you can see that gorgeous carved woodwork and the graceful lines of the piece.
See how dark and saggy she was before???
I used French Grain Sacks and linen/polyester blend upholstery fabric for the seat and arms, as well as a gorgeous burlap gimp for the trim!!
